So, I met a new 3D modeling program, Google SketchUp. I have begun working with that to design my new woodworking projects. Lady has told me I need to starting developing the plans into something that anyone can follow, and then put them up for sale. This was the second project I developed. The first will be showcased when it is done, which will be very soon.
This project was building myself a stand-alone entertainment center. Custom sized shelves, a spot for the lonely subwoofer, new drawers, and a seven foot tower for the projector to rest. The structure is made of 1"x2"s and 2"x2"s. The sides are covered with speaker fabric with trim board borders. Eventually it will also have a roman blind, made of speaker fabric, to cover the front as well.
A great find that I made while working on this: Harbor Freight has drawer slides for cheap! Picked up 20" Euro Drawer Slides for $4.49 a pair. They work fantastically!
John, I wish I had a Harbor Freight near me. I just have Menards/Mac's to get by.
