Entertainment Center Addition

Have wanted to get my projector back on the ceiling, instead of angled down on a bunch of 1x2s.  Rather than the $250 ceiling mount, I built a nest for it to rest on.  Ta-Da!

So Many Mangos...

I bought more mangos for Lady, only to find out that the old ones had not been smoothie-fied yet.  A bunch of mangos with nowhere to go, whatever shall I do!  Hello mango salsa!  I sort of winged it for the ingredients and ended up with mango, tomato, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and lemon juice.  Mmm, mmmm, mmm!

Break From Projects...With A Project

Ever since the new entertainment center went in, we had been trying to figure out what should go between that and the door.  We tried the wire cube organizers, but it just didn't feel right.  So, an hour of designing and an hour of building later, Ta-Da!  We now have a fine addition to the living room, with the functionality we wanted.

Always ready to be the cute model!

Call of Duty T-Rex Gets A Girlfriend

Even T-rexes fall in love.

Project #3 - Jewelry Cabinet

Another project I had came out from Lady's jewelry display racks.  Our neighbor saw them, and said she thought one in cabinet form would be great for her bathroom vanity area.  So, ta-da!  The original plan had been for a glass inset for the door, but the glass and I had issues on how big and in one piece it should be.

New Entertainment Center

So, I met a new 3D modeling program, Google SketchUp.  I have begun working with that to design my new woodworking projects.  Lady has told me I need to starting developing the plans into something that anyone can follow, and then put them up for sale.  This was the second project I developed.  The first will be showcased when it is done, which will be very soon.

This project was building myself a stand-alone entertainment center.  Custom sized shelves, a spot for the lonely subwoofer, new drawers, and a seven foot tower for the projector to rest.  The structure is made of 1"x2"s and 2"x2"s.  The sides are covered with speaker fabric with trim board borders.  Eventually it will also have a roman blind, made of speaker fabric, to cover the front as well.

A great find that I made while working on this:  Harbor Freight has drawer slides for cheap!  Picked up 20" Euro Drawer Slides for $4.49 a pair.  They work fantastically!
